This month we will send some tips and tricks with the formatting of your dissertation in Microsoft Word. Although each study and formatting guidelines of each university and the magazines is different, there are common formatting options that each student should know and understand, including (a) formatting the writing tap and sales spacing, (b) change the margins of the document and (C ) Inserting a table.
Font and sales distance: Pro APA and scientifically write, times of new Roman font, size 12 and double room the text. Select the "Home" tab at the top of the MS Word document and view the "Font" section to find the current font style, size and distance. You can use the drop-down arrows to the right of the style and size options to change your font if necessary. In addition, there should be a small corner icon with an arrow and right in the lower right corner of this window. When you click this icon, MS Word displays a larger font field with additional fonts.
For the distance of your font between sentences and in each paragraph, the section "Paragraph" to the right of the "Font" section contains options to format your text that is relevant to the entire paragraph. The symbol specifically for the distance between sentences looks like an upwards and down arrow with 5 lines to the right of the arrow (in the middle of the bottom line of the symbols, see figure below). To select a double distance type, select the options 2.0. Alternatively, select 1.0 for inserted fonts. Again, there is a symbol in the lower right corner, showing an arrow down and right to the right you can select to open a larger heel option area.
Margin: To change the edges of your document, switch to the "Layout" tab at the top of the MS Word document. The first article should be titled "Margen". Select the drop-down arrow and select "Custom Margins ..." at the end of the options. In this area, you can use the up / down arrows to change the edge size, or you can enter the field before the symbol for applying a specific section is set. Inserting a table: If you want to record a table in your dissertation, always use the function MS Word table. Insert a picture of a table. These options in the "NOT" list lead to formatting nightmares that can discard the formatting of the entire document or retain them in the dissertation process.
To properly insert a table, go to the Insert tab at the top of the Word document. Click the table icon, tables, and use the drop-down arrow to select the number of rows and columns that you need for your table data. Alternatively, you can choose to select the "Fit Tables ..." drop-down drop-down drop-down drop-down table options and manually enter the number of rows and columns.
After you have inserted your table, and have added your table data, make sure that you contain only horizontal boundaries at the top and bottom in the table and under the main table headings. For special APA rules with regard to formatting a table, see APA6, Section 5, Display Results (p. 125).
